DU First List 2024: DU’s first merit list today, know the future rules, otherwise admission will be cancelled

Seat Allotment DU 1st List 2024: The first round of admissions for undergraduate courses will begin today at Delhi University. The first DU seat allocation list will be released on Friday. Students will get seats in different colleges based on their Common University Entrance Test (CUET) scores. Seats will be allotted based on preference of college-course combination, CUET score and number of seats.

DU Admission Schedule 2024: What will happen when?

  • The first allotment list will be released on August 16 at 5 pm.
  • Students will be able to accept the allotted seat till 4:59 pm on August 18.
  • From August 16 to August 20 till 4:59 pm, the colleges will check the students’ documents online and approve their admission.
  • Students will be able to confirm their seats by paying the fees till 21st August 4:59 pm.

If you don’t take the seat then you are out of the system

Students will have to agree to the seat they will get, otherwise they will be out of the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS). If a student neither takes the seat nor freezes it, it will be considered cancelled and he/she will be out of the seat allocation system. If the student does not take the upgrade option, the admission on the previous seat will remain intact.

What is DU Seat Upgrade?

Candidates who want to join another college after getting a seat will have to choose the ‘upgrade’ option. This will be considered in the next round depending on the vacant seats.

What is DU Seat Freeze?

If the student wants the same seat that he/she has got, then he/she will have to ‘freeze’ the seat from the dashboard. After this, there will be no chance to ‘upgrade’.

This year only 1.86 lakh students have filled the choice of course-college, while 2.4 lakh had registered. Admissions will be done for about 71 thousand seats in 79 UG programs and 198 BA program combinations in 68 colleges/institutes/centers of the university. There are about 1550 subject-college combinations.
