DU Admissions 2024: More than 46000 admissions in the first round, know how many seats are vacant in which college

Delhi University Admission 2024: In the first round of admission to its undergraduate courses, Delhi University allotted 25 thousand more seats to the students than the total seats, but only half the seats were filled. The colleges were given time till 5 pm to approve admissions. However, the admission branch tried to increase the admission figures by giving three more hours. Students will be able to confirm their seats by paying the fees till 5 pm today.

Meanwhile, in the first round, many colleges have got more admissions than the number of seats. Many colleges are waiting for students and have expectations from the next round. In the next round, many students will also withdraw their seats. About 60% of the students want to change their college or course.

DU UG Admission: 27,613 filled the upgrade option

There are 71,600 UG seats in the university. But with the aim of getting maximum admissions in the first round and starting the new session soon, the university allotted seats to students in colleges for 97,387 seats. DU’s Dean Admissions Prof. Haneet Gandhi said that out of these, students agreed to 83,678 seats but only 46,171 students got admission. That is, they paid the fees.

Out of these, 27,613 students have filled the ‘upgrade’ option, meaning these students want to change their college or course in the next admission round. Till 20 August, colleges had agreed to admit students on more than 46 thousand seats. Students will be able to confirm their seats by paying the fees till 5 pm on 21 August. Only after this the actual data will be revealed.

DU Vacant Seats 2024: What is the condition of which college

Hindu College Principal Prof. Anju Shrivastava says that we have received a good response in the first round, especially in humanities courses. However, only a little more than 50% of the students had paid the fees a day before the last date. We hope that this number will increase by the last date of fee payment and admissions will also increase. Some admissions are also stuck due to problems with certificates of some reserved categories.

Sri Aurobindo College has seen about 15% additional admissions in the first round itself. College Principal Dr Vipin Kumar Agarwal says that we have a total of 1215 seats and 1384 admissions have been done. Most of the courses including Political Science Honours, English Honours, Commerce, Science are full. We have a few seats vacant in Hindi Honours, and a few seats are vacant in some reserved categories.

Principal of Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College (ARSD) Gyantosh Jha said that we have 1475 seats. The college has approved admission in some more seats than this. That is, approval for admission has been received from the principal to check their documents. But the actual admission data will be available only after the last date of fee submission. Admission is completed only after paying the fee.

After this round, the list of vacant seats will be released on 22 August at 5 pm. According to this, there will be an opportunity to change the preference of course-college choice from 22 to 23 August at 4:59 pm. The second seat allocation list will be released on 25 August and admissions will be done till 30 August.
