DU Admission 2024: DU admission should not be done through CUET, letter sent to VC- calendar has gone haywire

Delhi University Admission 2024 Latest Updates: Teachers of Delhi University have demanded from the Vice Chancellor of DU that the admission process of DU should be separated from the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). A letter has been written to VC Prof Yogesh Singh regarding this. Teachers say that the result of CUET has not been released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) till now. In the last three years, many irregularities have come to light in the conduct of CUET. Due to which the session of DU is getting delayed and both students and teachers are facing problems.

‘Old DU admission process should be restored’

INTACH (I) has raised the issue of NTA not releasing the CUET result 2024 till now and the disruption caused in the DU academic calendar due to this. INTACH (I) University Court member Y. S. Mathur, Academic Council member L. S. Chaudhary, Executive Council member Ravindra Kumar Singh, Delhi University Teachers Association Vice President Sudhanshu Kumar have written a letter to the VC demanding separation from CUET.

INTACH (I) President Ashwini Shankar said that instead of the CUET admission process, the old system of DU should be restored, which had credibility and trustworthiness across the country. Sudhanshu Kumar said that ever since CUET score has been made the basis for UG, PG admissions, there has been continuous irregularity in the regular session of the university. The admission process which used to be completed by July now continues till October-November.

Teachers said that it was the dream of the youth of the entire country to get admission in DU. Today, due to this delay, seats remain vacant. This is not only tarnishing the reputation of the university but is also a waste of the country’s resources.

DU Academic Calendar 2024-25: Classes to start from August 1

DU has talked about starting classes from August 1 in its academic calendar 2024-25. However, CUET 2024 answer key has not come yet. According to this, even if the session starts from August 1, very few students will get admission by then. Before CUET, classes used to start in mid-July. According to the calendar, the mid-semester break will be from October 27 to November 3. Exams will be held in December, winter break will be from December 29 to January 1.
