DU Admission 2024: 6 students got justice! The High Court itself got them admission in the college

Delhi University’s St. Stephen’s College has given admission to the 6 students who had gone to the High Court. On Friday, the High Court granted interim relief on the petition of the 6 students and asked them to give them provisional admission in the college and asked DU to open a portal for them so that they can deposit their fees. According to DU’s Dean Admissions Prof. Haneet Gandhi, the college has given admission to the 6 students. Their fees have been deposited.

The remaining 16 students have not been admitted. DU is considering these students. We will once again write to the college for admission of the remaining students.

Earlier, St. Stephen’s College had refused to admit 22 students in undergraduate courses, even though the university had allotted them seats in the first round of admission. The Christian minority college says that 5% more seats than the fixed seats have been allotted in their college.

On the other hand, according to the admission branch of the university, 19 students were allotted seats under the single girl child quota, but the college approved admission for only 7. Students were not admitted on the remaining 10 seats.

Let us tell you that in the second round of UG admission, Delhi University allotted 24,869 seats, out of which more than 6,100 seats remained vacant in the first round. Apart from this, 27,554 students got upgraded seats, and the university is re-evaluating the candidates with invalid documents under the UR category.
