Air pollution has reached its peak in the capital Delhi. According to Air Quality Index (AIQ), Delhi’s air has reached ‘very poor’ category. In such a situation, it is becoming difficult for the people of Delhi to leave their homes. Many people are also having trouble breathing. Seeing the problems of the people in the capital, Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai has asked to increase the number of buses.

The main aim of increasing the number of DTC buses is that, while buses reach most of the stands in Delhi at an interval of 15-30 minutes, under this scheme, Delhiites can get bus service at an interval of 10 to 12 minutes. Along with this, water will be sprinkled in the places of Delhi where there is more pollution.

Minister Gopal Rai said that more than 1,800 traffic personnel are being deployed at 97 points in Delhi. More than 6,000 MCD employees will be deployed to control road dust. Apart from this, neighboring states (Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Haryana) will be requested not to send diesel buses to Delhi.

Due to increasing air pollution in Delhi, inspection work of construction sites will be done rapidly. Action will be taken against sites where illegal construction takes place. Let us tell you, Delhi Government is running an anti-dust campaign against dust pollution from October 7, under which more than 500 teams have inspected more than 2500 construction sites. According to reports, so far fines of more than Rs 17 lakh have been imposed on many construction sites.

Minister Gopal Rai has promoted public transport in view of the increasing pollution in Delhi. In which, taking care of the people of Delhi, he/she said that Delhi Metro will make extra trips 40 times every day, so that the passengers do not have to face any kind of problem while travelling.
