DPL T20: Old Delhi 6 was in danger of being out of the playoffs, 2 wins changed all the equations


New Delhi. Old Delhi 6 has made it to the playoffs of the Delhi Premier League (DPL). Old Delhi registered its fifth win on Monday by defeating Central Delhi Kings by 32 runs. With this win, it has got 10 points. Now it is at number three in the points table. East Delhi Riders (14) is at first place and South Delhi Superstars (12) is at second place in the table.

Old Delhi 6 scored 173 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the ongoing DPL match at Arun Jaitley Stadium on Monday. In reply, Central Delhi Kings could only score 140 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Lalit Yadav scored the highest 46 runs (29 balls) for Old Delhi 6. Yug Gupta scored 44 runs in 30 balls and Keshav Dalal scored 28 runs in 20 balls.

Chasing the target of 174 runs, Central Delhi Kings lost their first wicket in the second over. After this, wickets kept falling. However, captain Jonty Sidhu held one end and scored a half-century in 32 balls. But he/she could not prevent the team’s defeat. Prince Yadav of Old Delhi 6 performed the best in bowling and took three wickets. This also included the important wicket of Central Delhi captain Jonty Sidhu.

Old Delhi 6 had won only 3 of its first 8 matches. Due to this, it was in danger of being out of the playoffs. But after this, it has secured its place in the playoffs by winning two consecutive games. It is the third team to reach the playoffs this season.
