Dozens of schools and colleges including Caltech closed due to wildfire in Los Angeles, poisonous air and smoke.

Los Angeles Fire: A fire has broken out in the forests of Los Angeles city in the US state of California. Because of this, thousands of acres of forest have been burnt to ashes. There has been a fire in many areas around the city of Los Angeles, which has also engulfed the homes of many Hollywood stars. Due to the fire, hundreds of houses are being reduced to ashes and ashes are scattered on the roads. Many schools and colleges in the Los Angeles area have also been closed due to fire safety.
California Institute of Technology (Caltech) has also canceled classes at its Pasadena campus due to the wildfires. All non-essential work has also been cancelled. A Caltech spokesperson said students living on campus are safe. They have been given essential items like water, food and masks. Students have been advised not to go out. Pepperdine University is closing both its Calabasas and Malibu campuses. The examinations to be held here have also been cancelled.

USC and UCLA are keeping an eye on the situation

The University of Southern California (USC) said on its website that it is monitoring the situation. Employees affected by the forest fire have been asked to approach their supervisors for help. The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) is currently open and classes are underway. It has said that there is no threat to the campus from the fire as of now and the air quality is also fine. However, UCLA said it is monitoring the situation.

According to the LA County Office of Education, 24 school districts have partially or completely closed. Many schools in Southern California have also decided to cancel classes. The L.A. County School District announced that Burbank Unified School District, Glendale Unified School District, La Cañada Unified and Pasadena Unified School District will remain closed through Friday. The LA County School District is currently monitoring the current situation. The names of the closed schools are given below.

The Los Angeles Unified School District closed all of its locations Thursday. LA City officials said that people will be informed about the schools affected by the closure.
