Donald Trump targets Kamala Harris in conversation with Elon Musk

Republican presidential candidate and former US President Donald Trump had a candid conversation with Tesla and XCEO Elon Musk on Space.com on Monday night (local). Trump, who will contest against US Vice President Kamala Harris in November, took aim at his/her Democratic rival during his/her conversation with Musk.

Trump described Kamala Harris as ‘more left-wing’ and said her policies would ensure more illegals enter the US.

“I think a lot of people thought the Biden administration would be a liberal administration, but that’s not the case. We’re going to see an even more left-wing administration with Kamala. That’s my honest opinion,” Trump told Musk.

“We have no president right now — and Kamala is even worse. She’s a San Francisco liberal who destroyed that city, destroyed California, and will destroy our country if she’s elected,” he/she said.

Trump, who often speaks about illegal immigration into the US, accused Kamala Harris and the Biden administration of allowing illegals to easily enter the country.

“If Kamala comes into office, 50-60 million illegals from all over the world will come straight into our country,” Trump claimed. “The number of illegals Kamala has welcomed into our communities is more than we thought possible. Countries are emptying their prisons — and sending them into our country. They’re bringing crime and violence into our backyard.”

The former US President also accused the Biden administration of wasting its four years and doing nothing for the people.

“We have a flawed government… we have lakhs of people coming in a month and then [Kamala] “She gets up and tries to pretend she’s going to do something. She had three and a half years and they have another five months, but they won’t do anything,” he/she said.

Trump, who had raised the slogan ‘Make America Great Again’ in his/her first presidential campaign, is once again raising the same slogan and claiming that the US economy is facing a crisis under Biden’s leadership.

“People want the American dream back more than anything. You don’t have that today because the people running our country are worthless — they’re incompetent people. The economy is a disaster because of the inflation. … Four years ago, people were saving a lot of money. Today they’re spending all their money and borrowing money just to survive.”

Trump also promised that if elected he/she would ensure that America is safe from any threat, especially the nuclear threat, which he/she says is bigger than climate change.

“We’re going to build the Iron Dome. Israel has it. We’re going to have the best Iron Dome in the world. We need it and we’re going to build it here in America. We’re going to provide the security,” Trump said.

Elon Musk, who has publicly supported Donald Trump for president, said he/she supported Trump because of the issue of a secure future.

“I think these are the things that are important for the future: that we have safe cities, safe borders, sensible spending and regulation … that’s why I’m supporting you for president,” Musk said.

Trump also showed a softer side of himself, claiming he/she was not a die-hard Republican but that the country was at a critical juncture.

“When Obama was running for president, I stood in line for six hours to shake his/her hand, so it’s not like I’m some kind of staunch Republican. I actually historically call myself a moderate Democrat. But now, I think we’re at a really critical turning point for the country,” Trump said.

The battle lines for the US presidency have now been clearly drawn, with Trump attacking Kamala Harris on the issue of immigration, Harris taking aim at Trump over his/her stance on abortion and LGBTQ rights.
