Actually Potato 65 is due to the numbers of the dish. Actually it was at item number 65 in the menu of a restaurant. And, this story is related to a restaurant in Chennai. Although it was made from chicken there, Potato 65 is named on the lines of Chicken 65. This is a vegetarian version of chicken 65.

Material to make Potato 65

4 big potatoes
3-4 tablespoons rice flour
2 tablespoons cornflor
Kashmiri red chili powder
Taste salt, pepper
Ginger-garlic paste
Oil as per requirement
Onion and green chillies

How to make Potato 65

  • Boiling potatoes After peeling, grate it, wash it 2-3 times and squeeze thoroughly and remove all the water.
  • Add rice flour and cornflour to grated potatoes and mix well.
  • Now prepare a paste batter of Kashmiri red chillies, salt, pepper, ginger-garlic.
  • When the batter is ready, make small balls and deep fry till it becomes crispy.
  • Add a little oil to a pan, add finely chopped onion, garlic, chopped green chillies, curry leaves and red chili and fry.
  • Now add Kashmiri red chili powder, garam masala, salt and 1/2 tablespoon sugar to balance the taste.
  • After mixing everything, now add 3-4 tablespoons of curd and cook for some time.
  • In this way you will be your potato 65 ready, you can serve these balls with sauce or chutney.
