Delhi Gate present in Daryaganj, Delhi is a historical gate. There is much history associated with this gate. People believe that it was built by Mughal emperor Shahjahan in 1638. During his/her rule, Shahjahan had constructed about 14 gates. It is constructed from red sandstone. It is said that this gate was built to siege the city.

Kashmiri Gate is the most famous gate of Delhi, which is the door of the historical wall of Old Delhi. It was constructed in the year 1835, it is said that it was named Kashmiri Gate because it was at the beginning of the road leading to Kashmir. Today the Kashmere Gate area has become the business and fashion hub of Delhi. There are some other gates in Delhi like Kabuli Gate, Turkman Gate, Mori Gate. These gates are also linked to the Mughal and British periods.
