Kanjeevaram sarees belong to the city of Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu, South India. Whereas if we talk about Banarasi saree, its name itself shows that it is the identity of Banaras of Uttar Pradesh. The history of Banarasi sarees is said to be 2000 years old. Due to the work of pure gold threads, Kanjeevaram sarees are heavier than Banarasi silk and their price is also higher.

Kanjeevaram sarees are known for their lustrous texture, thickness and strength. These sarees usually have traditional South Indian designs.
