DMRC News: Is entry allowed in metro with firecrackers? Know DMRC rules before traveling

New Delhi: Only a few days are left for Diwali and the markets are full of firecrackers. Many times people go to other cities to buy cheap firecrackers and then after shopping, think of traveling in metro or train to avoid the jam. If you are one of those people, then just wait! If you are thinking of returning home after traveling in metro after shopping for firecrackers, then you are disobeying the rules of DMRC.

There is a ban on firecrackers in the metro

Even though firecrackers are currently banned in Delhi, even if there was no ban, you would not have been able to travel with firecrackers in the Delhi Metro. According to DMRC, you cannot carry firecrackers or any inflammable substance in the Metro. According to DMRC rules, entry of firecrackers in the metro is banned. In this regard, DMRC has shared a video in the year 2022. In which DMRC had told through a meme that firecrackers cannot be taken in the metro.

Ban on firecrackers in Delhi

Let us tell you that this year also the Delhi government has banned firecrackers during Diwali. This ban will remain in force till January 1, 2025. Under this ban, there is a complete ban on the production, storage, sale and use of firecrackers, which also includes online sale and delivery.

Fine may be imposed

Delhi government has taken this decision to reduce the pollution spreading in Delhi. If a person is caught bursting firecrackers despite the ban, he/she can be jailed for up to 6 months and fined up to Rs 200. Apart from this, if anyone is found selling, producing, or storing firecrackers, he/she can be punished with a fine of up to Rs 5000 and jail up to 3 years.
