DJ Ahn Ye Song sentenced to 8 years in jail, drove drunk, 50 year old man died

A big news is coming out related to K-pop girl group INSTAR’s ex-member and DJ Ahn Ye Song aka Yesong. he/she is sentenced to 8 years in prison. The charge against him/her was that he/she drove under the influence of alcohol and ran his/her Mercedes-Benz SUV over a 50-year-old delivery worker, causing his/her death. According to the information, during the September hearing, Ahn Ye Song reversed his/her initial stand. “I plan to give up my career and dreams,” Huey said.

Earlier the sentence was given for 10 years

Ahn Ye Song was sentenced to 10 years in prison in the first trial because she fled the scene without helping the victim. This idol-turned-DJ woman expressed grief over this and compromised with the victim’s family. Therefore this punishment was reduced to 8 years.

The victim’s family had recommended a sentence of 15 years.

The victim’s side had previously recommended a longer prison sentence of 15 years, citing Ahn Ye Song’s lack of remorse. Especially when Ahn Ye Song’s team tried to blame the victim for the incident.

Lawyer’s argument – Had it been on the other road, the accident would not have happened.

The 24-year-old DJ’s lawyer claimed that Yesong admitted the charges. The lawyer said, ‘he/she had consumed excessive alcohol at an industry event and drove under the influence and has no recollection of that incident. She understands the need for treatment for alcohol addiction. The lawyer argued that the victim should also bear some responsibility. he/she said, ‘If he/she had gone to the other road, the accident would not have happened.’ However, the claims were later withdrawn.

Cited financial crisis

After this, financial difficulties were cited by Ahn Ye Song. It was said from her side that she is facing financial crisis due to less bookings.
