Diwali on the border! Seeing this picture you will be proud of your soldiers

New Delhi : What a lovely picture! Soldier’s Diwali on the border. Young man lighting lamps. The picture is of Line of Control (LOC) between India and Pakistan. The place is Akhnoor sector. In the picture the young man is lighting lamps in the middle of a thorny fence. On Dhanteras, soldiers performed Lakshmi Puja on LOC and also burst firecrackers. Who would not be proud of our brave soldiers after seeing this picture? Consider the words of an officer posted in Akhnoor sector, where this picture is taken, which he/she said while talking to our colleague Times of India. The officer said, ‘We celebrate Diwali miles away from our homes. Army is another family for us, a big family.

It is the season of festivals. From homes to markets, from streets to roads, everything is buzzing. Are illuminated. There is a celebratory atmosphere. It is bright. All this is because someone is keeping a watch on the border all the time.

Be it the bone-chilling cold of Siachen or LOC or LAC…our brave soldiers are deployed all the time. Their Diwali is there, their Holi is there, their Eid is there, every festival is there. he/she was keeping an eye on the LOC all the time to prevent terrorist infiltration. he/she also keeps an eye on whether there is any mischief from Pakistan’s side on the border. They are also prepared to ensure that China’s PLA does not dare to act on the LAC.

We are able to celebrate festivals in our homes because there is someone who is guarding the border, away from our family, away from our children, away from our loved ones, far away. he/she stayed awake so that we could sleep peacefully. he/she is sacrificing so we are living peacefully, immersed in celebration during festivals. What a lovely picture indeed. Diwali of a soldier on the border.

Let us light a separate lamp this Diwali in honor of these brave men. Perform it as your duty. Celebrate a lot. Celebrate a lot. Amidst all this, do remember that if we are celebrating today, there is someone’s sacrifice behind it. Someone is posted on the border away from our loved ones so that we can celebrate happiness among our loved ones.
