Denying the rumors of discord in the family, Pahlaj Nihalani said, ‘Shatrughan Sinha was out of Mumbai for almost three months due to the Lok Sabha elections. Bhabhiji (Poonam Sinha) must have known. She must have decided to tell him/her about this after his/her return. Now he/she has returned to Mumbai and everything is fine between Sonakshi and her family.’

‘Shatrughan was angry, but Sonakshi is his/her darling’

When asked if Shatrughan Sinha is angry about Sonakshi’s marriage, Pahlaj Nihalani said, “Yes, but he/she cannot remain angry for long. Not with Sonakshi. She is his/her beloved. There is no question of not attending the wedding. As Shatruji told you, children these days inform their parents, they don’t ask for permission. If Sonakshi is marrying a boy of her choice, why should he/she be angry? Shatruji himself married a girl of his/her choice forty years ago. I too chose my life partner myself. No one should have such expectations from their children which are not realistic.”

Shatrughan Sinha had said- I have only one daughter

Earlier, in an interview to ‘ETimes’, Shatrughan Sinha had said, ‘If Sonakshi is getting married, then no one will be happier than me on her wedding day. I have only one daughter. She has full right to choose her life partner.’ Earlier, veteran actor and TMC MP Shatrughan Sinha had said in a conversation with ‘Zoom’, ‘I am in Delhi right now. I have come here after the election results. I have not talked to anyone about my daughter’s plans. So your question is whether she is getting married? The answer is that she has not told me anything about it. I also know as much as the media has told me. If she convinces me about this relationship, then my wife and I will give our blessings to this couple. We always wish for her happiness. We completely trust her decision.’
