New Delhi : An agreement has been reached on LAC regarding the border dispute between India and China. Under the agreement, armies of both the countries have retreated in Demchok and Depsang. Soon joint patrolling will start in these areas from both the countries. On the occasion of Diwali, soldiers of both the countries gave sweets to each other at many border places including LAC. Meanwhile, Ladakh MP Haji Hanifa expressed doubts over China’s commitment to honor the agreement on LAC.

The agreement must be implemented on the ground

Hanifa said that it is difficult to trust China completely. Our Indian Army and government are sincere in maintaining the agreement, but China should also follow it. he/she said that those of us who live near the border know what war is like. We want peace on the border. We welcome the agreement between the two countries, but we want to see it implemented on the ground.

Tension should be reduced through diplomatic methods

Hanifa said that tension on the border should be reduced through diplomatic means. he/she said that I was in Demchok, where I met the local people. Hanifa is the only representative of Ladakh in the Lok Sabha. At the same time, Councilor from Nyoma Ishe Spaljang expressed his/her satisfaction while expressing his/her gratitude towards the Central Government. he/she said that on behalf of Demchok and all the people living on the border, I thank the Central Government.
