Did the failure of Kohli-Rohit increase the burden on Bumrah’s waist, he/she bowled 53 overs in Melbourne and…

New Delhi. Jasprit Bumrah took the most wickets in the India-Australia Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series. Was player of the series. Despite this, when India needed him/her the most in the Sydney Test, this player got injured and went to the dressing room. How did Bumrah get this injury? How serious is the injury? The team management has not answered any such question. No one knows when he/she will return to the field.

Jasprit Bumrah’s injury is troubling every Indian cricket fan. The question is whether he/she was made to bowl more than required in Australia. That too knowing that Bumrah’s bowling action does not allow this. he/she is the most important player for India at this time. Then why couldn’t the captain and team management decide the workload of Bumrah? Let us tell you that in the first 4 test matches, Bumrah

When we look for answers to these questions, we see more helplessness than the failure of the team management to make Bumrah bowl more. The Indian team was repeatedly getting restricted to small scores on this tour of Australia. A batsman like Virat Kohli could not even score 200 runs in the entire series. Only 190 runs came from his/her bat in 9 innings. The bat of Rohit Sharma (31 runs in 3 matches) became so silent that the captain himself had to be dropped from the playing eleven of the fifth test. Rishabh Pant also did not live up to expectations.

These failures of the Indian batsmen put a burden on the bowlers. Bumrah is not only the number-1 bowler of the team, but he/she also captained the team in the first and last Test. In such a situation, if any one player was most affected by the failure of these legendary batsmen, then it was Bumrah. As a result, Bumrah, who was used with utmost care by the team management and the captain, was employed like a laborer (Kapil Dev often calls fast bowlers as labourers) on the Australia tour.

Highest bowling after first 4 tests in BGT
player over Wicket
Jasprit Bumrah 141.2 30
pat cummins 136.4 20
Mitchell Starc 131.2 15
Mohammad Siraj 129.1 16
nathan lion 116.4 8

You can see in the table that before the Sydney Test, Jasprit Bumrah was the bowler who bowled the most overs in the series. This is probably the first time that the Indian team made Bumrah bowl so much. Considering Bumrah’s injury history, doing so would not be considered right at all. But it was done. Bumrah also took more burden than necessary for the team. he/she was the captain in two matches and is well aware of his/her ability. Perhaps that is why he/she himself took the lead the most. Whatever the case, it would not be right to blame any player or management for this. But what can be said is that if the Indian batting unit had performed as per expectations and had posted big scores on the score board, then Bumrah would not have been under so much pressure of bowling.

Even after the Sydney Test, i.e. after the end of the series, Bumrah had 908 balls in his/her account. Only three bowlers, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Mohammad Siraj, had bowled more balls than him/her. Except for Pat Cummins (1002), there is not much difference between Bumrah and Starc and Siraj. Starc bowled 12 balls more than Bumrah in the series while Siraj bowled 35 balls more. That too when these pacers played one more innings than Bumrah.
