Did Rahul himself get trapped in his/her ‘lies’? Controversy over what RSS chief Bhagwat did not say

Author: Avadhesh Kumar
The statement given by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat in a program in Indore on Independence Day and the life consecration of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya has created a storm in the country. Opponents are alleging that the Sangh does not consider August 15, 1947 as Independence Day and Bhagwat has appealed to consider and celebrate Independence Day on January 22, 2024 i.e. Paush Shukla Dwadashi.

conflict with the Indian state

After that, Rahul Gandhi’s statement is most discussed and debated that what Bhagwat said is the idea of the Sangh and we are fighting against it. On the occasion of the inauguration of his/her central office, he/she even said that do not assume that our struggle is only with some political organizations like Sangh and BJP. We have to fight the entire Indian State.

dreams will come true

Videos of the Sangh chief’s speech in Indore are available. In this he/she is saying, ‘India became independent on 15th August. You got political freedom. It is in our hands to decide our destiny. We also made a Constitution, a specific vision which emanates from India’s own self, that Constitution was guided by it, but it did not follow its spirit and hence, ‘How can we accept that dreams have all come true?’ How can we accept the burden of pain that has been lifted from our heads?

Gandhi’s objection

Mahatma Gandhi did not issue any statement on August 15, 1947. he/she had asked his/her comrades that was this how we had fought for Swaraj? he/she clearly wrote that we got political independence from the British but social, economic and cultural independence requires a longer struggle and hard work than before. Will you declare Gandhiji anti-Independence Day on this basis?

lies of opponents

The next line of Bhagwat should also be seen, ‘We have got the foundation of self in freedom in written form from the Constitution, but we have not established our mind on its firm foundation. What is our self? Ram, Krishna, Shiva, are these the only Gods and Goddesses, or only those who worship them? It’s not like that. Ram connects North and South India. Nowhere did he/she say that Independence Day has to be celebrated on Paush Shukla Dwadashi. Appealed to the entire country to celebrate it in the name of Pratistha Dwadashi.

continuous struggle for liberation

Moving away from the propaganda, think why the invaders attacked and destroyed our religious places? That’s why our self dies. The faith within us regarding those places, replaced statues or formless forms should be destroyed. In parallel with invasion, destruction, forced construction and slavery, the struggle for resistance and liberation continued. Were Guru Gobind Singh, Chhatrapati Shivaji, Lachit Barphukan etc. great freedom fighters for us or not?

symbol of culture

In this context, the movement for the liberation of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya was not to oppose anyone, but to awaken and achieve self. If the political leadership had taken it this way, the movement would not have continued for so long. Bhagwat said that this day has become a symbol of the reconstruction of Ram temple in Ayodhya and restoration of Indian culture, those for whom the Ayodhya movement itself is wrong cannot understand this sentiment.

spreading lies is wrong

Still, it can be accepted that someone will have differences with the thinking of Bhagwat or the Sangh. But will the debate be on what he/she said or on what he/she did not say? Is it the prestige of the Constitution to spread such lies and create a feeling of anger, excitement and violence among the people?

Naxalites quote

The truth is that even if Bhagwat’s speech had not happened, Rahul Gandhi had to say all this on some pretext. he/she continues to speak the language of traditional Maoists, Naxalite or early communists. To instigate people, they used to say that religious fanatics and fascist powers are expanding, capitalists and industrialists are amassing wealth by taking advantage of power on the basis of exploitation and hence the state system has to be overthrown. This is what Rahul Gandhi is saying.

Congressmen should also consider

In fact, the Sangh chief gave a balanced view, but Rahul Gandhi’s words are inciting violence and incitement. Traditional leaders of Congress should also consider whether this thinking will increase their public support? Would this not be an attack against the values for which the freedom struggle took place?
