Did not get a chance in IPL 2024, took West Indies to Super 8 in World Cup, said- I will eat chicken tonight…


New Delhi. The 26th match of T20 World Cup 2024 was played between West Indies and New Zealand (WI vs NZ). In this match, West Indies registered a spectacular victory by 13 runs. At one time it seemed that the West Indies team would not even be able to cross the 100-run mark. But this did not happen. Shane Rutherford played a brilliant innings for West Indies and took the team’s score to 149 runs. After the match, he/she said that even though I did not play the IPL, I was busy preparing.

Talking about his/her innings after the match, Sherfane Rutherford said, “I want to thank God for this opportunity. I was in the IPL for two months. I was preparing, even though I was not playing. But I was preparing for this in the World Cup. I wanted to take the match deep, this was my plan. Me and (Darren) Sammy had talked about this.” Let us tell you that Sherfane Rutherford is a part of KKR in IPL.

Rutherford further said, “We talked about taking it deep and keep rotating the strike, as I can make up for it later. Looking at their bowling lineup, I knew they had two overs less and I was telling myself that I have to take this match till the last. I wanted to score more runs in the remaining overs. This was my plan and I think it worked well. I will eat chicken curry tonight.”
