Dhoni’s thinking on impact player rule
Mahendra Singh Dhoni said in an interview that when this rule was first implemented, I felt that it was not really needed. To some extent it helped me and did not. I am doing wicketkeeping right now, so I am not an impact player. Mahi further said that she will have to move forward accordingly. Many people say that big scores are being made due to this rule, but I believe that this is happening by playing the players easily. Dhoni said that this rule is giving teams a chance to keep an additional batsman under strict circumstances. Mahi also believes that big scores are being made due to having an additional batsman. It is associated with the mindset. The teams now have an additional batsman facility, so they play more aggressively. Talking on the Impact Player Rules, Dhoni further said that it is not that all four or five additional batsmen are being used, it is only confident from being that batsman. T20 cricket has developed like this.
Rohit-Hardik has opposed the impact player rule
The impact player rule has been criticized by players like India’s Test and ODI captain Rohit Sharma and star all -rounder Hardik Pandya. Both of them believe that all rounders are getting affected by this as teams are choosing aggressive batsmen for the role of impact player. By the way, there is no one that runs are being scored due to impact player, but the effect of all -rounder is gradually decreasing in the IPL.
