Dhanteras School Holiday: Is it a holiday on Dhanteras or not? Will schools remain closed in UP, Bihar, MP, Rajasthan or Delhi?

Dhanteras Holiday 2024: Dhanteras Diwali celebrations are about to begin. Every year the festival of Diwali is celebrated for 5 consecutive days, starting with Dhanteras. Diwali celebrations are completed by combining the festivals of Dhanteras, Narak Chaturdashi or Chhoti Diwali, Deepawali, Govardhan Puja and Bhai Dooj. Students in school are also expected to have holidays on all these days but officially this is not the case everywhere.

Many people may have doubts about the holiday of Dhanteras festival. In this regard, some private schools may declare Diwali holiday from Dhanteras, but in many states Dhanteras has not been declared an official government holiday. Know here whether Dhanteras is included in the holiday in major North Indian states or not.

Uttar Pradesh: There will be no Dhanteras holiday in schools in UP. Here the state government has officially declared Diwali on 31st October, Govardhan Puja on 2nd November and Bhai Dooj on 3rd November as holiday.

Chhattisgarh: Students are going to get the longest holiday in the state of Chhattisgarh and there will be 8 days holiday in schools, which will start on Sunday, 27th October. There will be a holiday on 28th October and 29th October will also be a holiday on Dhanteras. This holiday will continue till November 3, the day of Bhai Dooj.

Bihar-Jharkhand: There is a possibility of Dhanteras holiday in both these states and according to some reports, the government has also included October 29 in the Diwali holidays.

Madhya Pradesh: There is no possibility of getting holiday on Dhanteras in MP. Here, Chhoti Diwali i.e. Diwali holiday has been declared from 30th October which will continue till Sunday, 3rd November i.e. Govardhan Puja.

Rajasthan and Delhi: There is little hope of school holidays in the capital Delhi on Dhanteras. Holidays have been declared in Delhi from 30th October to 3rd November, whereas according to the official calendar of Rajasthan, there will be a holiday from 31st October to 3rd November, but according to some reports, Dhanteras holiday has also been declared here at the last moment.
