Democracy is so precious that it cannot be left to technology… Why did the demand for elections through ballot paper arise?

New Delhi : Whenever elections are held in the country, questions are raised by the opposition regarding EVMs. From Lok Sabha elections to Assembly elections, complaints of EVM tampering and malfunction often come to the fore. From the Election Commission to the Central Government Ministers, it is said that it is an irritation after the defeat of the opposition. Despite this, Congress MP Manish Tewari once again suggested on Wednesday that the Election Commission of India (ECI) should consider returning to ballot papers for conducting elections.

Reference to countries of the world

Congress leader Manish Tewari highlighted the importance of protecting democracy. Tiwari said that all over the world, without exception, even in countries where EVMs were invented or used before India, everyone has gone back to ballot papers because democracy is so precious that it cannot be replaced by technology. But cannot be left out.

Congress’s allegations were rejected

he/she said that the Election Commission should not only think very seriously but should also take the initiative to take this country back towards ballot papers. Democracy is too precious to be left to technology. This statement of the Congress leader comes after the Election Commission rejected Congress’s allegations of irregularities in the recent Haryana elections. The Election Commission had said that these allegations were “baseless, false and devoid of facts.

Election Commission had written a letter to Congress

In a letter to Congress on Tuesday, the Election Commission urged them to refrain from making baseless claims after the elections. Also accused the party of creating ‘general’ suspicion without evidence. The Election Commission warned that such irresponsible allegations could lead to public unrest and anarchy. Especially during sensitive times like voting and counting days.

Why is ‘West Bengal’ the biggest goal of BJP strategist Amit Shah now?

Question again on EVM battery

Tiwari also raised questions and expressed doubts on the battery life of EVMs. he/she said that it completely defies any law of science that a machine, an EVM, can be used the whole day from 8 am to 6 pm or from 9 am to 5 pm and the machine 99% battery life after shut off. It is stored in a strong room and then after a few days it is brought out and the votes are counted.

BJP raised questions on Congress

BJP leader Tarun Chugh criticized the Congress party on this issue. he/she called Congress a ‘sinking ship’. Blamed it for raising questions on the effectiveness of EVMs after the election defeat. Chugh said Congress is a sinking ship which is thoughtless and apolitical… They blame EVMs for their defeat (in the elections). The Congress party, whenever it wins an election, be it in Karnataka or Telangana, considers EVMs and the Election Commission okay… Despite losing so many elections, their ego is high.
