Delhi School Holiday 2025: Delhi schools will be closed on February 12, government issued notice

According to the notice issued by LG, the Delhi government took a major decision on 11 February 2025. A public holiday has been announced on the occasion of Guru Ravidas Jayanti on Wednesday, 12 February 2025. An official notice in this regard has been issued by the General Administration Department. All offices, public undertakings and autonomous bodies under the Delhi government will remain closed. This holiday will also apply to government schools in Delhi. The decision has been announced in an official circular issued by Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena.

In the notification issued by the Delhi government, it has also been said that the banned holiday announced in November 2024 for Guru Ravidas Jayanti has now been canceled. Instead, there will be a complete public holiday.

All government schools in Delhi will be closed on Wednesday, February 12. However, there is no official confirmation about the closure of private schools and educational institutions. Will private schools also remain closed? To know this, one may have to wait for the official update.

Guru Ravidas Jayanti is traditionally celebrated in many states. These include Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab. Residents of Delhi are encouraged to participate in celebrations and honor the heritage of Guru Ravidas. Guru Ravidas Jayanti is the birth anniversary of 15th century saint and poet Guru Ravidas. Guru Ravidas is known for his/her contribution to the Bhakti movement. his/her teachings focused on equality and social justice.
