Strong sunlight and heat throughout the day has increased people’s problems. People are also falling ill due to heat wave. Experts are advising to leave the house less. Although there has been some relief from the heat due to strong winds in Delhi-NCR since Wednesday, the heat wave is still continuing. While the scorching heat is troubling North India, it is raining badly in the southern states. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of severe heat and heat wave in the states of North India for the next five days. Western Rajasthan is experiencing the maximum heat at this time, Eastern Rajasthan, Gujarat and Western Madhya Pradesh are severely affected. Worrying heat conditions also persist in Haryana, Western Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. Night temperature also remains high in some parts of Rajasthan, while day temperature is expected to be between 44 to 48 degree Celsius in many areas of Rajasthan. According to IMD, the temperature will remain slightly lower in Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat. Temperatures are expected to range between 40 to 44 degrees Celsius at some places in Western Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Odisha and Central Maharashtra. Temperatures in Punjab, Saurashtra, Kutch, Haryana and some areas of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Gujarat are 2-4 degrees Celsius above normal. There is a possibility of further increase of temperature by 2-3 degrees Celsius in Central India and Maharashtra in the next five days.

Heat wave alert for next five days
The Meteorological Department has issued a heat wave alert for the next five days. According to IMD, there is a possibility of heat wave in some areas of Jammu, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat and north-eastern Madhya Pradesh from 23 to 26 May. At the same time, similar weather is expected in Western Madhya Pradesh and Delhi on 22 and 23 May. The heat wave may continue in Vidarbha from 23rd to 26th May, in Eastern Uttar Pradesh from 24th to 26th May and in North Central Maharashtra from 22nd to 25th May.

At the same time, there is a possibility of severe heat in Western Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh, Eastern Rajasthan and Western Uttar Pradesh from 22 to 26 May. At the same time, north-western Madhya Pradesh and Delhi may also have to face it during 24 to 26 May. Hot and humid weather is expected in Assam from 22nd to 24th May. At the same time, similar weather is expected in Konkan and Goa on May 22. There will be hot nights in western Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan from 22 to 26 May. Red alert of heat wave in these states
Regarding the heat wave, IMD has issued a red alert for Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Western Uttar Pradesh. During this period, people of all ages are at risk of heatstroke related diseases. Apart from this, orange alert has also been issued for Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat state and Western Madhya Pradesh.

Holidays of doctors canceled in Rajasthan
Rajasthan has been most affected by the heat wave. The temperature in Barmer has reached 48 degrees Celsius. In view of this serious situation, the state government has canceled the leaves of administrative and medical employees. The Health Department had already canceled the leaves of all medical staff of government hospitals. In view of the scorching heat, the Health Department has issued several guidelines. Experts have advised to take special precautions, including drinking more fluids and not staying out in the sun for too long.
