New Delhi: Most of the states across the country including the capital Delhi are experiencing scorching heat these days. The Meteorological Department has also issued a red alert of heat wave for the next five days. At many places the temperature has crossed 45 degrees. According to the Meteorological Department, today there is a possibility of severe heat wave in many parts of Rajasthan, some parts of Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi. At the same time, there will be severe heat and heat wave in different parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Western Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra, Gujarat, Saurashtra and Kutch.

How will the weather be in Delhi?
The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert of heat wave in Delhi. The scorching heat in Delhi has troubled people for the last week. However, strong winds have been blowing in the capital for the last two days. There has been a slight drop in the temperature due to the winds, but the heat is still very high. According to the Meteorological Department, Delhiites are not expected to get relief from heat wave for the next seven days.

Red alert of heat wave in five states
The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert of heat wave in five states. This includes the states of Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. The maximum temperature in these states can reach 45 degrees. The Health Department has also completed preparations in hospitals in view of the heat wave, so that patients can get beds and necessary health services. In Rajasthan, even doctors’ leaves have been cancelled.

Cyclone in Bengal, heavy rain in South
While the scorching heat has increased the problems of the people in the northern states of the country, a cyclone warning has been issued in the maritime areas. According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of a cyclonic storm in West Bengal and Bangladesh on the evening of 26 May. Apart from this, heavy rains have been predicted in the southern states. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.

Orange alert in these states
The heat is increasing in the states of North India, but experts are expressing concern that the temperature is continuously increasing in the states of North East also. Regarding this, the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert in these states. Electricity demand increased in summer
Due to scorching heat in most parts of the country, the maximum demand for electricity reached 235.06 GW on Wednesday. This is the highest demand so far this season. According to industry experts, ‘The main reason for increasing demand for electricity is excessive heat. With the rise in mercury, the use of air conditioners/coolers is increasing, due to which electricity consumption has also increased. According to power ministry data, the maximum demand for electricity or the highest supply during the day was recorded at 235.06 GW on Wednesday. This is the highest demand so far in the summer season this year.
