Delhi-NCR’s largest trauma center is ready, will have 362 beds

New Delhi: After a long wait, Delhi-NCR’s biggest trauma center is now ready in Mangolpuri. It will have a facility of 362 beds and patients will get treatment with the help of modern equipment. On June 15, PWD will handover the trauma center to the hospital administration. Officials claim that the trauma center will be started soon after that.

According to the information, a blueprint of a 362-bed trauma center was prepared in Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital and its foundation stone was laid in September 2019. A doctor of the hospital said that the construction of the trauma center was claimed to be completed in two years, but the work could not be completed by the stipulated time. After this, it was said that the work would be completed on 30 June 2023, but this did not happen. After this, a deadline of 30 September 2023 was given again. But still the work could not be completed. Hospital MS Dr. S.K. Kakaran said that on June 15 this month, PWD will hand over the trauma center. After that, it will be considered to start it. It is expected that it will start soon. he/she also told that the recruitment of doctors and paramedical staff in the trauma center is under process.

Facility of 100 ICU beds
According to the information, apart from neuro surgery, cardiac surgery, facial surgery, many super specialty facilities will be available in this center. Apart from this, 6 operation theaters have been built. Along with this, all modern investigation facilities like MRI, CT scan will be available. Work is going on here for equipment, beds and other facilities. According to officials, the hospital currently has only 8 bed ICU facility, but after the trauma center starts, the number of ICU beds will increase by 100.

According to experts, after the opening of the trauma centre, people of Mangolpuri, Sultanpuri, Budh Vihar, Vijay Vihar, Pooth Kalan, Rohini, Kiradi, Nangloi, Paschim Vihar, Rani Bagh, Pitampura, Badli, Shahabad Dairy, Rithala, Bawana, Narela, Kanjhawala, Avantika, Begumpur, Rama Vihar, Tikri and other nearby areas will no longer have to go to other hospitals in case of emergency.
