Delhi is at the bottom in unemployment rate, this southern state is at the top, see the latest report of PLFS

New Delhi: In the quarter from January to March this year, Delhi had the lowest unemployment rate, while Kerala stood first. This survey was conducted between the age of 15 to 29 years. This report of Periodic Labor Force Survey (PLFS) has been released by the Ministry of Statistics. 22 states and union territories were included in the survey. The unemployment rate between the age group of 15 to 29 years was 17 percent in January-March. This is more than 16.5 percent of the previous quarter. However, in 2023, the unemployment rate was slightly higher at 17.3 between January and March. Unemployment rate was 3.1 percent in Delhi, 9 percent in Gujarat and 9.5 percent in Haryana. This figure was 11.5 percent in Karnataka and 12.1 percent in Madhya Pradesh. After the Corona epidemic, the unemployment rate among those aged 15 to 29 years continues to remain at the top, yet there has been some improvement in it.

Unemployment rate was recorded at 48.6% in Jammu and Kashmir, 46.6% in Kerala, 39.4% in Uttarakhand, 38.4% in Telangana and 35.9% in Himachal Pradesh. In the first quarter of this year, the female unemployment rate was 22.7 percent, which is .2 percent more than the previous quarter. The PLFS tracks unemployment, labor force participation, and labor population ratio. In the survey, those who did not work even for a minimum of one hour in the entire week were considered unemployed.
