The new applications for Nursery Admission 2022 for Delhi EWS Entry Level Classes (Pre-School, Nursery, Pre-Primary, KG and Class 1) started in February. Right to Education (RTE) Act, 2009 Under the Right to Education (RTE) Act, 2009, 25% seats in private schools will be reserved for families falling under EWS/DG category in entry level classes. According to the official notification, ‘3% seats within 25% reserved seats under EWS, DG in entry level classes of private unaided schools by the Directorate of Education (DoE) under the category of children with disabilities for the session 2021-22 reserved for admission.

Question 1: I do not have any proof of date of birth of my child. How can I apply?
Answer: The written declaration/commitment on the part of the parents regarding the date of birth is considered as valid proof of the date of birth of the child.

Question 3: What percentage of seats are available under EWS/DG category in a school?
Answer: At least 25% of the total seats in an entry level class of a school.

Question 4: Who comes under the EWS (Economically Weaker Section) category?
Answer: A child whose parent’s family’s annual income from all sources is less than one lakh rupees.

Question 5: What are the documents that can be considered as proof of address?
Answer: i) Ration card issued in the name of the parent having the name of the child in the ration card.
ii) Domicile certificate of the child or his parents.
iii) Voter ID Card (EPIC) of either of the parents.
iv) Electricity Bill / MTNL Telephone Bill / Water Bill
v) Unique Identity Card (Aadhaar) of the parent/child issued by the Government. of India.
vi) Passport in the name of either the parent or the child.
vii) Rent agreement is not a valid proof of address.

Question 6: What are the documents that can be considered as proof of birth?
Answer: (i) Birth certificate under the Birth, Death and Marriage Certificate Act, 1969.
(ii) Hospital / Auxiliary Nurse and Midwife (ANM) register records.
(iii) Anganwadi records.
(iv) Declaration of age of the child by the parent or guardian.

Question 7: Is income certificate required for DG category?
Answer: No, Income certificate is not required for DG category.

Question 8: If I qualify for both EWS and DG category, then under which category should I apply?
Answer: Any one category of your choice.

Question 9: Will seats be given in different entry level classes?
Answer: Yes, the number of seats is mentioned at the time of selecting the schools while applying online.

Question 10: How will the admissions of EWS/ DG children for private unaided schools in Delhi be conducted online?
Answer:- This will be done through the draw of computerized lottery/lot system.
