Delhi Election 2025 School Holiday: Will the school be closed on the day of Delhi election, is there a holiday on February 5 or not?

Will there be election holiday in Delhi schools? Will Delhi schools be closed on 5 February? These questions are revolving in the minds of many parents and their children living in Delhi these days. Everyone is waiting for the official announcement of the Delhi Government or Education Department. Actually, on 5 February 2025, the capital Delhi has assembly elections. As soon as the election date draws near, the discussion about the school holiday has intensified.

The Delhi Assembly elections will be held on 5 February 2025 in the same phase. The votes will be counted on 8 February. The Department of Personnel and Training (DOPT) has already announced that all central government offices, shops and industries in Delhi will remain closed on the election day. So that all people can exercise their franchise. This holiday gives people a chance to participate in the democratic process.

The office of the South West District Election Officer has recently issued a notice to the Deputy Director of South West Delhi. In this, instructions have been given to organize ‘Prabhat rally’ for children. This rally was to be held in various schools of jurisdiction. The rally was scheduled at 9 am today. The purpose of this rally is to make children aware of the importance of voting.

Apart from this, sometimes, educational institutions which are made polling stations are declared a holiday even a day before the election. For example, this year Jamia Millia Islamia School Department will remain closed due to Delhi elections on 4 and 5 February. This is done so that voting can be prepared and people do not have any problem in casting their votes.
