Chhath Puja School Holiday 2024 Delhi: Schools and colleges are going to remain closed once again in the week after Diwali, Govardhan and Bhai Dooj. A government holiday has been declared in Delhi on Thursday, 7 November 2024. This public holiday has been declared in Delhi for the great festival Chhath of Bihar. On Friday afternoon, LG VK Saxena wrote a letter to Chief Minister Atishi in this regard. After which Atishi announced Thursday, November 7, as a public holiday in Delhi in view of Chhath Puja. CM Atishi gave a written order to the Chief Secretary of Delhi and also directed him/her to issue necessary notifications in this regard. It is noteworthy that after this government order, there will be a holiday in the schools of the national capital on 7th November. Other government colleges including Delhi University can also release information regarding holidays soon. Along with this, government offices will also remain closed.

Importance of Chhath Puja

Atishi said that Chhath Puja is a very important festival for the people of Delhi. Earlier in the day, LG had also written a letter to Chief Minister Atishi. LG said that ‘in a few days we will be celebrating Chhath. It is believed that this great festival is celebrated for 4 days. In which the third day, when Arghya is offered to the setting Sun God, is the most important. This day, falling on November 7 this year, is already declared as a restricted holiday. I request that the government declare Thursday, November 7, as a full-time holiday and send the file related to it as soon as possible.
