Dangerous Lashkar terrorist brought to India from Rwanda, big success of CBI and NIA in collaboration with Interpol

New Delhi : Indian agencies have achieved a major success. CBI and NIA in collaboration with Interpol have succeeded in extraditing a member of internationally banned Pakistani terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba. The terrorist has been brought to India from Rwanda. Interpol had issued a Red Corner Notice against him/her due to terrorist activities in Bengaluru.

Salman Rehman Khan, a member of the banned terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba, had supplied arms, ammunition and explosives for terrorist activities in Bengaluru in 2023.

A CBI spokesperson said that the CBI’s Global Operations Center worked closely with the NIA and Interpol for Khan’s extradition. Due to this, Lashkar terrorist could be brought from Rwanda to India. NIA had registered a case of conspiracy to spread terror in Bengaluru in 2023. An FIR was also registered at Hebbal Police Station in Bengaluru. On the request of NIA, CBI had issued a red notice from Interpol on 2 August 2024. This notice was sent to law enforcement agencies around the world. Its objective was to catch this terrorist.

Khan found in Rwanda. CBI sought the help of Interpol in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda. The NIA security team brought Khan back to India on 28 November 2024. On the request of NIA, CBI had issued a red notice against Khan on August 2, 2024. It was sent to agencies around the world.

Recently, CBI and Kerala Police in collaboration with Interpol had brought two accused from Saudi Arabia to India. Barkat Ali Khan had an Interpol red notice in 2012 in connection with riots and use of explosive substances. he/she was brought from Saudi Arabia on 14 November. Raihan Arabikkallarikkal was also under red notice. he/she was wanted by the Pattambi police of Kerala in a case of rape and sexual offense against a minor. he/she was brought from Saudi Arabia on 10 November.

The Central Bureau of Investigation said in a statement, ‘CBI, as the National Central Bureau for Interpol in India, works closely with all Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) in India. Since 2021, more than 100 criminals have been brought to India through Interpol. This year alone 26 criminals have been brought back.

Khan’s capture is a major success in the fight against terrorism. The extradition of terrorists like Salman Rehman Khan is a matter of solace for the common people. This will demoralize the terrorists and they will think before carrying out their activities. This action also symbolizes India’s growing power at the international level.
