What items will be needed?

  • one spoon ghee
  • 2 cups makhana
  • 2 teaspoons white sesame seeds
  • half cup jaggery
  • a spoonful of water

First of all, put ghee in a pan and roast the makhana. Now take out the Makhana separately and fry the white sesame seeds in the same pan till it turns brown. You also have to take this out in a separate vessel. Now you have to prepare the syrup for which add jaggery and water together. And cook while mixing.

While cooking the syrup, you have to check it by putting a little bit of it in a bowl of water. If the jaggery is chipping then cook it for some time and check again. If it becomes tight and makes a sound when poured on the vessel, then understand that the syrup is ready. Now you have to mix makhana and sesame seeds in it. The Makhanas will stick together but can be separated after they cool down. In this way your jaggery makhana will be ready in some time.
