New Delhi : At the places in Manipur where two battalions of Assam Rifles are being removed and CRPF is being deployed, some Assam Rifles soldiers and officers will remain there even after CRPF comes. This decision was taken in a meeting of Assam Rifles DG and CRPF DG with the people of Kuki community. According to sources, in the meeting, the people of Kuki community expressed the fear that violence against them may increase after Assam Rifles leave. To make the people of Kuki community feel safe, it was decided that some Assam Rifles officers and soldiers will also stay there for the next 2-3 months.

That’s why this decision was taken in Manipur

The Home Ministry had directed to deploy CRPF in place of 9 Assam Rifles Battalion in Kangboi, Manipur and 22 Assam Rifles Battalion in Kangchuk. Here a buffer zone has been created between the Meitei community and the Kuki community so that violence does not occur. The people of the Kuki community were constantly protesting against the arrival of CRPF in place of Assam Rifles.

Soldiers and officers of Assam Rifles will also be deployed

According to sources, the DG of Assam Rifles went to Manipur and talked to the people of the Kuki community and then on the instructions of the Home Ministry, the DG of CRPF also attended the meeting. The Assam Rifles battalion has left Kangboi and has been replaced by the CRPF. However, 2-3 officers of Assam Rifles and about 180-200 soldiers will remain there for now. According to sources, the CRPF battalion will replace the Assam Rifles battalion in Kangchuk this month. Before this, the DG of Assam Rifles can go there and talk to the people.

Even after turning Manipur into a cantonment, the government is unable to stop the violence, now even people have started giving ultimatums
