CPM leader Sitaram Yechury admitted to AIIMS, undergoing treatment in ICU

New Delhi: Communist Party of India (Marxist) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury was admitted to Delhi AIIMS. he/she was first admitted to the emergency ward and then shifted to the ICU. he/she is currently under the observation of doctors. According to the information, Sitaram Yechury was admitted to Delhi AIIMS on Monday after complaining of high fever.

According to hospital sources, Yechury was admitted to the hospital’s emergency department in the evening. However, the hospital did not disclose the actual nature of his/her illness. A CPIM source said he/she had gone for a check-up and was admitted due to pneumonia.

Treatment is going on in AIIMS
The source said that his/her treatment is going on and he/she is fine at the moment. The source said, ‘There is nothing serious, he/she has been admitted due to pneumonia.’ The CPIM leader had recently undergone a cataract operation.

Yechury was part of the opposition alliance India in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, which stood against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The performance of the CPI(M) in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections was not particularly impressive.
