Cookies have crossed the limits, now let’s launch a vigorous operation… 27 NDA MLAs of Manipur passed the resolution.

New Delhi: Amidst the increasing terror of Kuki militants in Manipur, 27 MLAs of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) have passed a resolution. In this he/she has demanded that a ‘large scale operation’ be launched against the Kuki militants responsible for the killings in Jiribam district. In the meeting held on Monday night, the MLAs demanded immediate action within seven days following the death of three women and three children. The resolution also demands declaring the Kuki militants as an ‘unlawful organisation’ within seven days and handing over the case to the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

Demand to impose AFSPA along with action on cookies

The MLAs have also urged the Center to review the implementation of the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA) in the region, as per the direction issued on November 14. he/she said that if action is not taken on these proposals within the stipulated time limit, then the NDA MLAs will consult the people of Manipur to decide the further action. The MLAs also condemned the attacks on properties of ministers and MLAs and said legal action would be initiated based on the findings of the high-level committee.

Chief Minister’s assurance, Congress’s question

In a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, it has been assured that both the state and central governments will take all necessary steps to restore peace and normalcy. Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh on Tuesday criticized the current situation in Manipur and highlighted the alleged lack of support to Chief Minister Biren Singh and questioned the role of Union Home Minister Amit Shah in handling the crisis in the state.

Ramesh said that despite there being a total of 60 MLAs in the state, only 26 members attended the recent meeting called by Chief Minister Singh for NDA MLAs in Imphal. Ramesh said in an ex-post, ‘There are 60 MLAs in Manipur Assembly. Last night, the Chief Minister of Manipur had called a meeting of all the MLAs associated with the NDA in Imphal. Apart from them only 26 came. Out of these 26, 4 are from NPP whose national president has already written a letter to the national president of BJP asking him/her to withdraw support to the present Chief Minister.
he/she further said, ‘The writing on the wall is clear. But is the Maha Sutradhar of Manipur – the Union Home Minister, to whom the Prime Minister has handed over all the responsibility of the state, reading this? How long will this unbearable suffering of the people of Manipur continue like this?
