Consensus reached on patrolling and use of pastureland in some areas on LAC, big statement by Rajnath Singh

New Delhi: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh Said that the agreement reached between India and China on LAC shows the importance of defense dialogue in the global stage. he/she said that both India and China were and are continuously talking at diplomatic and military level to resolve differences in some areas on LAC. Due to the talks, it was agreed that the situation should be restored on the principle of equal security and mutual security. Rajnath Singh said that the consensus was reached regarding patrolling and grazing of animals in traditional areas. This is the power of consistent conversation. Because sooner or later solutions emerge only through dialogue.

Agreement reached between India and China regarding these areas

According to sources, the movement of local herdsmen towards LAC in Demchok area was stopped since April 2020. Due to which the shepherds were not able to take their animals even to their traditional pastures. Currently, the consensus between India and China has been reached only regarding Depsang and Demchok areas. There are no pastures in Depsang. When the consent will be implemented at the ground level, the shepherds will now be able to take their animals to the pastureland in Demchok.

Rajnath spoke in ‘Chanakya Defense Dialogue’

Speaking at the Chanakya Defense Dialogue, Rajnath Singh said that it is unfortunate that the importance of security and economic development is always acknowledged but it is not recognized as a director factor of economic growth. An important part of the budget of any country goes on security and economic development can happen rapidly only when the country is secure. The security sector also contributes significantly to job creation, development of technology and development of infrastructure. Its contribution is ignored in traditional economic analysis.

Rajnath Singh said that the relationship between development and security has not been given the attention it should. The Defense Minister said that in my opinion development and security are deeply related to each other. Our government has continuously tried to fill this gap. Sustainable development will happen only when the security of the country is ensured. he/she said that security does not just mean border defense. Internal stability, economic strength, security of critical infrastructure, all this is important for the overall framework of the country’s security.
