Congress, which is being isolated on EVM and Adani, did not pick up the Ambedkar issue just like that, understand the strategy.

New Delhi : Most of the winter session of Parliament was marred by uproar. Except for the discussion regarding 75 years of the Constitution in both the Houses, there was no meaningful discussion during the entire session. It is also a coincidence that during the discussion on the same Constitution, there was so much uproar over a part of Home Minister Amit Shah’s speech that the Parliament complex looked like an arena. The protest by the MPs even reached the level of scuffle. Both the ruling party and the opposition accused each other of violating the dignity of democracy. The Congress put all its strength on the issue of Shah’s alleged insult to Ambedkar. Congress workers across the country took to the streets demanding the resignation of Amit Shah. On March 24, the party has announced to take out a protest march across the country. Congress leaders will also hold press conferences across the country. After all, why did Congress change its track from Adani to focus entirely on Ambedkar issue? Congress has a strategy behind this. Let us understand.India isolated in alliance Congress was attending
Right from the beginning of the winter session, Congress created a ruckus in the name of Adani, Rahul Gandhi’s ‘favourite issue’. The House was not allowed to function. The proceedings of the House were marred by uproar and Congress MPs were protesting with placards in the Parliament complex. In between, Priyanka Gandhi was adding fuel to the discussion by hanging a bag containing ‘Modi-Adani’. Gradually, due to its stubbornness, Congress became isolated in the India alliance.

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav wanted a careful discussion on violence. he/she was upset to see it not becoming the main issue. On the other hand, Trinamool Congress publicly distanced itself from Congress on the Adani issue. Congress India seemed to be isolated within the alliance.

Congress’s position weakened due to defeat first in Haryana and then in Maharashtra.
Anyway, after the defeat first in Haryana and later in Maharashtra assembly elections, the position of Congress within the opposition alliance has weakened. On the issue of EVMs, National Conference’s allies like Omar Abdullah started showing the mirror to Congress that it will not work that where they lost, EVMs made noise and where they won, EVMs were fine.

Mamta Banerjee has staked claim on the leadership of the alliance, Lalu also supports her
On the other hand, seeing Congress weakening, TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee laid claim to the leadership of the India alliance. RJD founder Lalu Prasad Yadav, who is counted among the most trusted allies of Congress, also supported Mamata Banerjee. Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal has announced to contest the Delhi assembly elections alone. Overall, the position of Congress within the India alliance was continuously weakening. Even in Parliament, he/she was not getting the expected support from his/her allies on the Adani issue.

Ambedkar issue comes up again
The Ambedkar issue became like a cat’s fate breaking a string for the Congress. During the discussion on the Constitution in the Rajya Sabha, Amit Shah accused the Congress of repeatedly insulting Baba Saheb Ambedkar and enumerated the list of his/her alleged crimes. But the words he/she chose while playing his/her role were taken to heart by Congress and other opposition parties. Shah said, ‘It has become a fashion – Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar. If you had taken this much name of God, you would have gone to heaven for 7 births. What happened next, the opposition made this clip viral on social media and accused Amit Shah of insulting Baba Saheb and started demanding his/her resignation.

Congress is not putting so much effort just like that
Forgetting the Adani issue, Congress put full emphasis on this issue. It seemed as if there was a competition among the opposition parties as to who would show more aggressive attitude on this issue. In this matter, Congress seems to be taking the lead over other opposition parties. The party gave a lot of attention to the issue from social media to Parliament complex and roads. Congress also seems to be benefiting from this strategy. The party, which till now seemed isolated and weakening in the India alliance, has now again come into the central role. The rest of the alliance parties are also with him/her on this issue because everyone’s eyes are on Dalit votes. Congress once had tremendous influence in the Dalit community. Now the party feels that with the help of this issue it can again draw the Dalit community into its fold.

Kejriwal promised scholarship in the name of Ambedkar
Like Congress, Aam Aadmi Party is also busy in keeping the issue of alleged insult to Ambedkar hot. Arvind Kejriwal is shouting in his/her rallies that how dare you insult our God. On Saturday, he/she announced a scholarship scheme in the name of Ambedkar for Dalit students. Actually, assembly elections are round the corner in Delhi. There are around 17 percent Dalit voters here. Congress and Aam Aadmi Party feel that the more aggressive they are on this issue, the more they will get the benefit of Dalit votes. On the other hand, BJP is busy in damage control and is accusing the opposition of misleading people by sharing half-finished clips.
