Congress releases list of star campaigners for Jammu and Kashmir elections, Amethi MP KL Sharma’s stature increases

New Delhi: Congress has geared up for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections. The party has started campaigning in the state. Congress has released a new list of its star campaigners for the Jammu and Kashmir elections. This list includes 40 big names including party national president Mallikarjun Kharge, former president Sonia Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi. Congress has also included Amethi MP Kishori Lal Sharma in the list of star campaigners. After Sharma’s victory in the Lok Sabha elections, his/her stature in the party has increased significantly.

Who are in the list of star campaigners of Congress?

Himachal Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, former Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi, former Rajasthan Deputy CM Sachin Pilot have also found a place in the Congress’ list of star campaigners for the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections. Apart from this, the list released by Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal includes the names of Jairam Ramesh, Ambika Soni, Ajay Maken, Salman Khurshid and Kanhaiya Kumar.

Voting will be held in three phases in Jammu and Kashmir

Voting for the first phase in Jammu and Kashmir will be held on September 18. The Congress party released the list of 40 star campaigners for the first phase on Thursday. Elections will be held in three phases for the 90-member Jammu and Kashmir Assembly. Voting will be held in three phases on September 18, September 25 and October 1, while the counting of votes will take place on October 8. Congress has formed an alliance with the National Conference in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections. This will be the first assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir since 2014, as Article 370 was repealed in 2019. Assembly elections have not been held in Jammu and Kashmir since then.
