Congress is trying hard to win in Haryana, know the strategy behind appointing 3 observers

New Delhi : Congress, which has been out of power for the last ten years, has put in all its efforts to return to power in Haryana. Congress seems to be quite excited in view of the anti-incumbency in the state against the double engine government of BJP. On the other hand, it does not want to leave any stone unturned to ensure its victory. In view of this, the party high command has sent three of its senior and very experienced leaders as senior observers to keep an eye on the Haryana elections and help the party. These include former Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot, party treasurer Ajay Maken and Leader of Opposition in Punjab Assembly Pratap Singh Bajwa. In this regard, a strategist of the party said that all three leaders are not only very senior and experienced, but they also have their own credibility in the organization. They can play an important role in maintaining unity in the organization and handling the dissatisfied and angry ticket seekers due to not getting tickets.

Using the influence of the three leaders

All three leaders come from three states bordering Haryana, Delhi, Punjab and Rajasthan. In such a situation, there is a plan to use their influence in those areas with the help of these three. It is noteworthy that Congress could not coordinate with AAP. AAP is in power in both Delhi and Punjab bordering Haryana. In such a situation, Ajay Maken has been kept. Maken was also the chairman of the screening committee of Haryana. Even though Congress is constantly talking about its direct fight with BJP in the state, but due to the alliance between JJP and Chandrashekhar Azad and AAP contesting on almost all the seats in the state, the contest is now going to be triangular and multi-cornered instead of face-to-face in many seats. Congress believes that BJP is behind this. It is also considering both these camps as BJP’s team.

Congress is busy in pacifying the rebels

Before this, for the victory of the party, the party has already appointed observers from assembly level to Lok Sabha level and put them to work. According to sources, the main work of these observers is to contact the angry party leaders, rebels, angry workers and remove their anger and to get the angry people out of their homes. It is worth mentioning that the last date for withdrawal of nomination is Monday, 16 September. Therefore, Congress is trying its best to persuade its rebels. Currently, 31 rebels are contesting as independents in Congress. Pacifying them is the biggest priority and concern of Congress. At present, there is a discussion within the party on how to persuade which kind of rebel or where and by whom he/she can be made to withdraw his/her nomination by pressurizing him/her.

Multi-cornered contest in several seats

According to inside sources, the party believes that in the seats where there is going to be a multi-cornered contest and if an influential rebel is standing there, it will increase the difficulty. Many of these seats are considered important. Sharda Rathore’s contest against the party’s candidate Parag Sharma in Ballabhgarh, former MLA Lalit Nagar from Tigaon, Chitra Sarwara from Ambala Cantt, former MLA Rohita Rewari from Panipat urban seat have filed their nomination as independents, while Vijay Jain’s contesting from Panipat rural is increasing the party’s worries.

Congress is seeing benefit in stampede in BJP

One reason for the enthusiasm within Congress is the resentment, discontent and stampede within BJP. 32 rebels of BJP have filed nomination as independents. On the other hand, people are continuously joining Congress from BJP. Recently, former BJP MLA Sukhwinder Mandi and Jaiprakash Gupta joined Congress. Mandi is from Barhra whereas Jaiprakash Gupta has been MLA from Karnal. Both these leaders joined Congress with their supporters. So far, more than 50 MLAs, former MLAs, former MPs, ministers and former ministers from BJP have joined Congress in the recent past.
