Pujara said, ‘Children used to play cricket here near the old house, but I was not allowed. When father would go to office, I would go out from behind to play and do some wicketkeeping. Even then, Pujara used to play only ground shots here because there was a fear of breaking the neighbours’ glasses if he/she played aerial shots. In such a situation, if the father came to know, there was a fear of losing his/her childhood cricket. Fans know Pujara for defeating the opposing team through ground shots.

Mother bought bat for son on installments
Cheteshwar Pujara came from a middle class family and earned a lot of name in the field of cricket.
