Cissy Houston dies at the age of 91, the singer was struggling with Alzheimer’s disease

Two-time Grammy-winning gospel and soul singer Cissy Houston has died at the age of 91. he/she died Monday at his/her home in New Jersey, according to his/her daughter-in-law, Pat Houston. She was suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. Cissy’s family members were present with her at the time of her death. Cissy Houston’s daughter-in-law Pat Houston said in a statement, ‘Our hearts are full of pain and sorrow. We lost the matriarch of our family. he/she said that Sisi’s contribution to music and culture was magnificent. Pat Houston described her mother-in-law as a strong woman of deep faith who cared deeply about family and community.

Sisi was in the world of music for 7 decades

Cissy Houston has been in the world of music for almost seven decades. he/she started his/her career as a gospel singer in the family group. She became popular in the music industry in the 1960s. She was also a part of ‘The Sweet Inspirations’, a famous group that performed with music legends like Aretha Franklin, Elvis Presley and Van Morrison. The group also worked with artists such as Otis Redding, Dionne Warwick and Lou Rawls.

Sisi won 2 grammy awards

Sissi also gave her career a boost. Recorded more than 600 songs in different genres. Also won two Grammy Awards for the gospel albums ‘Face to Face’ and ‘he/she Leadeth Me’. She has also sung with stars such as Jimi Hendrix, Luther Vandross and Chaka Khan.
