China decided to make chilli … Navy drills with African countries, know what is India’s special plan

New Delhi : For the first time, India will conduct a major naval exercise with 10 African countries in the midst of border dispute with China. The exercise is part of the continuous military reach in the continent, where China has made major strategic progress. Even China keeps a close watch on the dangers generated by the Somali pirates and hawthi rebels in the region. The New Sena will also start another first initiative called ‘Indian Ocean Ship (IOS) Sagar’ next month. Under this, a joint party of Indian sailors and 44 personnel of nine ‘Mitra Foreign countries’ will be posted on the offshore patrol INS Sunayna from April 5 to May 8 in the South-West Indian Ocean Region (IO).

Akeeme drill, or ‘Africa-India major maritime attachment’, will be held from 13 to 18 April at Dar-S-Salam, Tanzania. The countries participating in the AKIM include Tanzania (which is co-consulting it), Comoros, Djibouti, Irritria, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Seychelles and South Africa. The drill will be inaugurated by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.
