Chandigarh/Panchkula 20 November (Trinew/Hpr)
A new dispute has started between Chandigarh and Haryana regarding the Union Territory Chandigarh Administration not giving admission to the children of Panchkula in schools. Punjab is already opposing the Chandigarh decision. Haryana Assembly Speaker Gyan Chand Gupta has written a letter to the Administrator of Chandigarh and the Governor of Punjab, appealing for a decision in this matter.
During admission in nursery classes this year, children of Panchkula and Mohali are not being given admission in the schools of Chandigarh administration. Chandigarh is the capital of Haryana and Punjab. Apart from this, Mohali, Chandigarh and Panchkula have been identified as tricity. The phone STD code of these three cities is also the same. Apart from this, the three cities are interconnected in every respect. The Chandigarh administration has refused to admit the children of Panchkula for the education session 2024-25. Thousands of people are getting worried about this. On Monday, Speaker of Haryana Assembly and Panchkula MLA Gyan Chand Gupta has written a letter to Chandigarh administration Banwari Lal Purohit, objecting to the notification of the Education Department.
Legislative Assembly Speaker Gyan Chand Gupta said that this decision of the Chandigarh Education Department is completely contrary to the right to education. The right to education should not be divided among regions. This will violate the right to education of innocent children of Panchkula and Mohali. Citing the National Education Policy, he said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is implementing an education policy in the entire country.
