Chhote Popat ruined Congress…BJP hits back at Rahul for making fun of the slogan ‘If one is safe, one is safe’

New Delhi: BJP hit back on Monday after senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘if one is safe’ slogan. BJP said, ‘Called him/her (Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha) ‘Chhota Popat’. The BJP claimed that Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray had called Rahul Gandhi ‘Chhota Popat’ to ridicule him/her. The BJP also slammed Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge for his/her statement that ‘poisonous snakes should be killed’. The BJP said this reflects the emergency thinking of the Congress which compares the opponents with snakes and their Incites violence against. Earlier in the day, claiming a link between the BJP’s above slogan and the award of the Dharavi redevelopment project to the Adani Group, Rahul Gandhi took out two posters from a safe brought to his/her press conference in Mumbai, one of which ‘One is safe’ was written along with pictures of industrialist Gautam Adani and Prime Minister Modi and the other showed a map of the Dharavi project.

BJP MP and national spokesperson Sambit Patra, reacting to Rahul Gandhi’s sarcasm, said, ‘It was a very low level press conference. Bringing a safe and creating drama around it, holding such a press conference on behalf of the so-called top leader of the so-called national party does not suit Rahul Gandhi and the Congress.

‘Rahul Gandhi’s name is Chhota Popat…’

The BJP leader said, ‘Today I say from this stage and in the language of Rahul Gandhi that ‘small trouble has ruined Congress’. his/her name is Rahul Gandhi. Patra said, ‘I saw an interview of Bal Thackeray in which he/she called Rahul Gandhi a small popat. From today onwards Rahul Gandhi’s name is going to be ‘Chhota Popat’. This name will now be on the tongue of every child of Maharashtra.
