Chhaava: The dance scene of Sambhaji Maharaj and Yesubai was removed from the song, the film will be released after 17 days.

Protests have already started regarding Vicky Kaushal’s film ‘Chhaava’ to be released this year. Questions were being raised regarding a song in the film. Now director Laxman Utekar has announced that that scene of Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna has been removed from the film after objections. ‘Chhaava’ is based on the life of Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in which Vicky is in the lead role. The ruling Shiv Sena and descendants of Shivaji Maharaj had objected to the historical accuracy of the film. On Monday, ‘Chhaava’ director Laxman Utekar confirmed that we will remove the scenes from the song in which Sambhaji Maharaj is seen with his/her wife Maharani Yesubai in ‘Lezim’. ‘Are dancing. This decision came after his/her meeting with MNS chief Raj Thackeray. In an official statement released to the media, Laxman said that some dance sequences are nothing compared to the legacy of the Maratha king.

That scene was removed from ‘Chaava’

Chhaava means ‘lion cub’ in Marathi. The film is based on the book Chhaava written by late novelist Shivaji Sawant. In a statement, Laxman said, ‘I have met Raj Thackeray. he/she is a person who studies. So I have taken some suggestions and guidance from him/her. And I can say, his/her words are very helpful to me. After meeting him/her, I have decided to remove the scenes where we have shown Sambhaji Maharaj doing the Lezim dance.

Director’s clarification on ‘Chaava’

Explaining further, he/she said, ‘When Sambhaji Maharaj attacked Barhanpur, he/she was only 20 years old. We have taken the rights of Shivaji Sawant’s book Chhava, in which he/she wrote about Sambhaji Maharaj’s participation in the Holi festival. We had created Maharaj considering him/her to be 20 years old. It was clear that they would have danced to Lezim. And why not? Lezim is a part of Maratha culture. This is our traditional dance. But, if anyone gets hurt by those dance moves or lezim dance, we will remove them. Lezim Chhatrapati is not bigger than Sambhaji Maharaj.

Will premiere on January 29

The director also took into account the concerns of several Maharashtra ministers, demanding that experts should watch the film before its release. So he/she said, ‘We have scheduled a premiere show on January 29. Some historians and people who study history will be there. We will take his/her guidance.

Cast and release date of ‘Chhaava’

Meanwhile, Laxman Utekar in his/her statement confirmed that the film will release in theaters on February 14 at the same time. Apart from Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika, ‘Chaava’ also stars many well-known actors including Akshay Khanna, Ashutosh Rana, Diana Penty and Divya Dutta.
