Chetna Nayi, Initiative Parivartan… A month-long campaign against gender-based violence launched in Delhi.

New Delhi: The Union Ministry of Rural Development launched the third edition of Nai Chetna – Pahal Badalav Ki, a month-long national campaign against women. During this campaign, the slogan of ‘No Excuses Now’ was given by the Ministry of Women and Child Development. On this occasion, Union Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan along with Women and Child Development Minister Annapurna Devi were present. During this period, new Chetna-3 Joint Advisory was also released. In this program, Union Women and Development Minister Annapurna Devi said that the Ministry is committed to empowering us women through the ‘No Excuses Now’ campaign.

‘Women do not report violence’

Annapurna Devi said that most of the women in the country still do not report the violence that happens to them, or do not talk about it, which is quite worrying. he/she said that the aim of this campaign is to empower women and people of other genders, so that beyond fear and gender-based discrimination, they can come out of shame and social constraints and report about the violence that happened to them with dignity and respect. Can live together. Minister of State for Rural Development Kamlesh Paswan and Dr. Chandrashekhar Pemmasani were also present in the program.

‘Government committed to women’s safety’

During this, Annapurna Devi mentioned the role of the government in creating a safe environment for women. he/she said that as a responsible government, I assure that we are committed to the safety of women. The resolution of our government is safe environment and speedy justice. Referring to the Nirbhaya Fund, he/she said that a decade ago, one or two projects for the safety of women were started with this fund, but at present work is being done on about 49 schemes. Making public places safe also includes buses, railway stations and roads. During this, he/she also described 181 women helpline as very effective in helping women in distress.

‘Many schemes for the development of women in MP’

During this program, Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that as the CM of Madhya Pradesh, he/she had started many schemes for the development of women. he/she said that if women are to be empowered then this empowerment should also be social, political and educational. Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that 90 percent of rape cases are committed by acquaintances. During this, Secretary in the Ministry of Rural Development, Shailesh Kumar said that women are still struggling with discrimination, social beliefs, violence and unequal burden of domestic work. She said that 49 percent women in rural areas have no control over their income and about 32 percent believe that their opportunities are limited due to gender inequality.
