According to the company, in the coming time, it is going to focus on the notebook segment. Explain that notebooks are low-cost and limited-use laptops that can be used for small tasks such as word processing.
Continuing its expansion in retail while expanding its portfolio in the gaming category, personal computer (PC) maker Asus is eyeing the top position in the consumer notebook market this year. It plans to increase its store count to 300 in India by 2023. According to market research company IDC, Asus ranks third in the consumer notebook category behind HP and Lenovo. Its market share is 15.6 percent and the company’s annual growth rate in the fourth quarter of 2022 has been 20 percent.
Asus India business head (consumer and gaming PCs, System Business Group) Arnold Su said the company plans to increase the number of its exclusive stores in India from the current 200 to 300 by 2023. Apart from this, it also wants to expand to other types of retail stores to increase its reach to the consumers.
Su said, “The current year is very important for us. This year we are striving to reach the first position in India. This makes the whole business expansion very important. We currently have 200 exclusive stores in India which we aim to increase to 300. We will be adding 20 to 25 stores every quarter.
Apart from exclusive stores, the company plans to increase the number of premium ‘shop in shop outlets’ from 150 to 250 by December 2023, increase the number of shops with company kiosks from the current 1,200 to 2,000 and dealers shop network from 6,000 to 8,000 by December 2023.
