Chargesheet against Babbar Khalsa terrorist Wadhwa Singh in VHP leader murder case, NIA action

New Delhi : The NIA on Friday filed a charge sheet against Wadhwa Singh, the Pakistan-based chief of the banned Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), in the murder of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Vikas Prabhakar in Punjab in April this year. Along with this, names of five other terrorists are also there in the charge sheet. Prabhakar, known as Vikas Bagga, was shot dead by terrorists of a BKI module at his/her shop in Nangal in Punjab’s Rupnagar district on April 13, 2024.

Main culprit of Wadhwa murder

According to a statement issued by the NIA, the chargesheet has named BKI chief Wadhwa Singh alias Babbar along with two other absconding accused and three arrested accused as the main culprits of the murder. Two of the three arrested accused have been identified as shooter Mandeep Kumar alias Mangli and Surinder Kumar alias Reeka. Both are residents of Nawanshahr, Punjab. A case has been registered against the accused under various sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, Indian Penal Code and Arms Act.

NIA said that the third arrested accused named in the charge sheet is Gurpreet Ram alias Gora, who is a resident of Nawanshahr and a case has been registered against him/her under the Arms Act. The three absconding accused are said to be the handlers of the arrested accused. Along with Babbar living in Pakistan, Harjeet Singh alias Laddi of Nawanshahr and Kulbir Singh alias Sidhu of Yamunanagar, Haryana had provided arms and money to carry out the murder.

The murder order came from Pakistan

The NIA, which took over the investigation of the case from the state police on May 9, 2024, unearthed the international conspiracy of BKI behind this deadly terrorist attack. According to the NIA investigation, several members of the BKI module living in different countries came together to carry out the attack. Investigation found that Pakistan Wadhawa Singh instructed Harjeet Singh and Kulbir Singh, currently living in Germany, to commit the murder. NIA said that the role of Dubai-based equipment providers and India-based arms suppliers has also come to light in the investigation and investigation into the case is ongoing.
