Change in voting percentage is not possible… Election Commission gave answer to those who raised questions on the data.

New Delhi: The Election Commission on Saturday presented the final data regarding the elections held in the last five phases. The data of what percentage of people voted in which Lok Sabha constituencies in the last five phases of elections has been released. During this, the Election Commission said that some misleading narratives have been spread regarding the vote percentage. The Election Commission issued a press release saying that no change in the vote polling percentage is possible in any way. The Supreme Court had refused to give directions on the application of the petitioner ADR in which it was said that the final data of voting in the elections should be made public and polling station wise data should be given. A day after the Supreme Court’s order on Friday, Saturday The Election Commission has released the Lok Sabha constituency-wise data of the last five phases of elections. The Commission said, we have decided that the voting percentage data will be made public more widely. Under this, the total number of votes cast in every Lok Sabha constituency where elections have been held in five phases, its number and its percentage have been made public. The Election Commission has said that the process is very transparent and there is no inequality in it. Polling booth wise 17C form is being given to the agents of all the candidates. There are a total of 10.5 lakh polling stations across the country. The voting number in Form 17C cannot be changed under any circumstances. This data is with the candidate. The candidate and his/her agent are allowed to take this Form 17C to the counting centre.

‘Pattern of spreading misleading information’
The Election Commission said, it has become a pattern to always spread misleading information about the electoral process. There is no possibility of any change in the number of votes cast. The Election Commission said that the Supreme Court has given an order in this matter. After that the Commission is feeling stronger and its responsibility increases even more in the democratic electoral process.

  • Phase 1: 66.14 percent
  • Phase 2: 66.71 percent
  • Phase 3: 65.68 percent
  • Phase 4: 69.16 percent
  • Phase 5: 62.20 percent
