‘Change’ in the coaching staff of Team India, KKR and Rajasthan Royals, after Gambhir-Dravid, the third veteran will change the team

New Delhi. Gautam Gambhir, who was the mentor of KKR in IPL 2024, is now the head coach of the Indian team. As soon as Gambhir became the coach, there were radical changes in the coaching staff of the Indian cricket team. Now it is the turn of IPL. It is reported that former Team India coach Rahul Dravid is going to become the coach of Rajasthan Royals. While the Director of Cricket of Rajasthan Royals can turn to KKR. This Sri Lankan legend can become the mentor of Kolkata Knight Riders, in which role Gambhir was a year ago.

According to the English newspaper The Telegraph, Rajasthan Royals and Kumar Sangakkara have mutually decided to end the contract. Sangakkara has been holding the post of Director of Cricket in this team since 2021. In these years, Rajasthan Royals reached the final of IPL, but could not win the title. The Sri Lankan legend can now join another team. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) is leading in this race.

After Gautam Gambhir became the head coach of Team India, KKR’s assistant coach Abhishek Nair and fielding coach Ryan Ten Doeschate have also joined the Rohit Brigade. This has left three big posts vacant in KKR. However, the team’s head coach Chandrakant Pandit remains on his/her post. It is believed that Chandrakant Pandit will continue to play his/her role, but Gautam Gambhir’s responsibility can be handed over to Kumar Sangakkara.

Kumar Sangakkara has been in the coaching staff of Sunrisers Hyderabad before Rajasthan Royals. Sangakkara has also played for the Hyderabad franchise before becoming a coach. Apart from this, he/she has also been a part of the Punjab Kings (formerly Kings XI Punjab) team.
